We at NO time sell to pet shops, puppy brokers, or puppy mills. If you have a specific look that you want in your chihuahua puppy please let me know. If you look through the pictures of “Our Chis” you will see that we breed typey (pronounced applehead, smaller ears, shorter nose, bigger eyes, more compact cobby bodies, etc) and as a result our puppies are really gorgeous and typey as well. All of our dogs have champion bloodlines and/or are champion sired (pedigrees of our dogs available upon request).

Most pets, especially dogs and cats, sleep during the day while their families are at work or school. So, having people constantly around means they’re more stimulated and thus not getting the rest they are usually used to. Both adult dogs and cats sleep for about 14 hours a day, while puppies and kittens need more. Make sure your pets have a quiet space away from work calls and noisy kids to catch up on their sleep.

Dogs use their ears in everyday life. Even if it can live very well if it is deaf! We know that hearing is important, since the dog vocalizes a lot. This is a characteristic that it retained during its evolution. It also vocalizes a lot with humans, which facilitates social interactions between our two species. The dog is the only specie of canine to vocalize frequently. Even if the dog understands better the indications by gestures / signals, it is enough to be the owner of a dog to notice that it will be sensitive to the tone you used The intonation therefore plays a more important role than the word itself.

Another thing to remember is that dogs need to socialization to be able to do better in training. Give him ample opportunities to meet people and other pets, with some precautions. Keep him in a strong leash when you take him out to dog parks. You may also enroll him in puppy classes if you can afford it. At six months of age, you may consider if you want to spay or neuter your pet. Consult your vet to know more about the procedure. Being a dog parent is not much different from parenting an actual child. It can get a little overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time, but as long as you remember these dog care tips, your puppy is sure to grow into a healthy and well-behaved pooch. Do you have additional new puppy care tips to recommend? We’d love to hear them in the comments.

I feel my puppies deserve to be met in person by a chihuahua lover who takes the time out to come and meet them, but I do understand that this is not always possible. I am very strict however with who I let into our home and the age of the puppies at the time, to ensure that they’ve had two sets of vaccinations prior. This is for the safety of my dogs and I don’t compromise it. I take the time to talk/email and build a relationship with potential puppy buyers before allowing visting hours or adoptions, so please be prepared to tell me a bit about yourself! A chihuahua is the best friend you will ever have. I can’t wait for you to meet our beautiful babies. Thanks for visiting our website. Discover additional details at Chihuahua Dreams.
